Unity3D support?
« on: September 22, 2021, 11:24:06 AM »
Does slickedit integrate with the unity game engine?
Specifically, can it debug unity projects working with the unity 3d editor?
I used slickedit for years, but have had to move to VSCode because it works well with unity for game development, but the brief bindings and tiled windows support is missing in vscode, so would rather use slickedit, but I cant if it does not support unity integration.

At the moment, debugging isn't supported yet only because there needs to be a way for SlickEdit to convert their projects to a form SlickEdit understands. Converting a Unity project to a Visual Studio (.sln) project and opening that in SlickEdit works best and would at least get you good tagging for the source files in the project.

We tried to work with the Unity folks but frankly they weren't helpful.

the jetbrains Rider editor works flawlessly with Unity, I would hope Slickedit could do at least as well?
I WANT to buy slickedit, I own several copies over the years, but without Unity integration, or unreal integration, noone in the game community will touch slickedit, I guess not enough of your customer base programs games, very sad.  I'll check back next year.
