Is it possible to dock the FTP toolbar in Linux SlickEdit?
« on: October 12, 2008, 06:51:17 PM »
Is there some way to dock the FTP toolbar in Linux SlickEdit 13.0.2.0?  I can make it visible or invisible and drag it around from one monitor to the next, but I cannot get it docked to the project panel the way I can in Windows.  Furthermore, when I go to Tools / Options / Appearance / Toolbars, the FTP toolbar does not  appear in the list.

Just pulling this out because I really don't use the command line much, but try
toggle_ftp
or
toggle_ftpopen

At least on the Windows (13.0.2) version, it pops out the ftp windows from a docked position (even if I start out with them undocked.  First time, it hides it, the next it flies out from the side.

If it doesn't work, likely the ftp window is "broken".  If it does, well, I don't know.

SlickEdit's awesome support staff answered my question.  It turns out that that technique is to drag the window by the side pipes.  I was dragging by the top.

Time for a silly question, then.  What are side pipes?  Is that the side of the window?  On a Windows PC, it's a means to resize, and on a Mac it can be used to move the window. Is that it?

Here's a screen capture from Ubuntu with expert annotation:

Until SlickEdit Support enlightened me, I thought the pipes were a defect in my graphics driver.
