Opening a shift-jis encoded .rc file
« on: September 17, 2010, 08:21:36 PM »
Someone gave me a .rc file whose resources have been translated to Japanese.  I open it and select the Shift-jis encoding, the strings are garbage.

Opening the same file in VS 2008 works ok.

Can you post the file or email it to me at swestfall@slickedit.com? Please include the number of this thread, 6388, in the email subject.

The solution was to specify a font to be used with "Unicode" files that is capable of displaying the Japanese character set.
