Clicking File in Projects Tool Window opens wrong file
« on: April 01, 2014, 05:30:27 PM »
Sometimes when I double-click on the file from the Projects Tool Window, SE opens the file below it. I've been seeing this for quite some time and I thought it was just me being too quick when I tried to double-click a file to open it. However, I run into the problem so often that I finally looked into it a bit.

I have the Projects Tool Window on the side of my screen (with Auto-Folder set to Directory view). If I move my mouse over 1 file, I see the highlight over that file. If I slowly move my mouse up until the file above it is highlighted, then double-click, the lower file is opened instead of the highlighted file. It looks like it's an "off-by-one" error because it only happens when the mouse is in the first pixel row above the lower file. The mouse-over highlight doesn't quite match the mouse double-click selection. It seems to match the right-click and single-click properly though.

Summary:
SlickEdit 2013 (v18.0.1.2 64-bit)
OS: Windows 8 x64
OS Version: 6.02.9200
Hotfix 1801_24
Mouse double-click on Project Tools Window pixel row is off-by-one.

I haven't been able to reproduce this so far, but I will keep trying.

100% reproducible for me, in both the Files and Projects tool windows (but doesn't repro in Defs, for example).

I would swear I reported this a couple years ago during the Qt conversion.

Anyway, it's an easy repro:
1.  Move mouse to bottom pixel of an entry in the list.
2.  Double click.  (Be careful not to jostle the mouse, of course).

Expected:  takes action on the highlighted entry.
Actual:  momentarily highlights the entry below it, and takes action on the (incorrect) newly highlighted entry, then highlighted the original entry again.

Thanks for the confirmation chrisant!

Here's a quick video showing the behavior (Captured with CamStudio and its lossless codec). The first file I clicked wasn't at the right pixel. But then the next few clicks show the off-by-one problem.

I was able to reproduce it on my desktop (earlier in the week I was trying on a notebook through Remote Desktop).

Looks like this has been fixed in the SE 2014 beta. Thanks!
